• 1 Shinkansen
    One of the fastest ways to get around in Japan, High Speed (up to 300 km/h or 186 mph) Bullet Trains or Shinkansen, which network spans most of the country.
  • 2 Hanami
    Hanami (lit. "flower viewing") is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the beauty of flowers, "flower" in this case almost always meaning cherry blossoms or ume blossoms.
  • 3 Itsukushima
    The island of Itsukushima lies in the Seto Inland Seaand is affected by strong tides. At low tide, the bottom of the sea is exposed past the island's Torii.
  • 4 Osaka
    Panoramic view of Osaka, just as a thunderstorm rolls in. Osaka is one of my favourite cities in Japan, because of it's friendly people and many restaurants.
  • 5 Transportation
    For residents and tourists alike, the train in Japan will get you almost anywhere and on time. Japan Rail's slogan used to be: "We get you there, with time to spare".
